Located at the foot of Taylor Mountain in Santa Rosa, California, Sonoma Academy is a dynamic, co-ed, college preparatory high school providing a 21st century education to students in Sonoma, Napa, Marin, and Lake Counties. We are a relatively new school, established in 2001, with a population of 230 students.

In keeping with our mission to deliver quality 21st century learning tools, we embraced the opportunity to participate in the K-12 Web Archiving Program. A small group of students, led by Sonoma Academy's librarian, signed up to learn about digital archiving, select websites that reflect their interests and everyday lives, and create a lasting record of those sites.

Life in 2011

How will technology, social networking, entertainment and diseases be different in the future? Will things like diabetes and cancer be cured? Will iPhones still be popular? Will we still care about the same celebrities?

  The iPhone represents very current technology, but we wondered what the future will bring in terms of technological advances. This site will help people see what is considered "high tech" now, and how it might be different from what they know.

  This is the official website of the American Cancer Society. We chose it in order to capture the ways in which cancer is treated, in hopes that future searchers will be able to see how medicine and research changes over time.

  Since one of the students in our group has diabetes, we decided to archive this website so people can compare how diabetes is treated today and how it will be treated in the future.
