Collected by: Cornell University Library

Archived since: Feb, 2021

Description:

Analyses of the role of policing in society have reached a peak with issues of law enforcement, social justice, and public security taking center stage. A range of policies and methods, as well as critical statements and aspirational proposals, are documented in the websites of law enforcement labor unions, professional associations including associations of minority law enforcement officers, and police accountability organizations.

Title: Charlottesville Police Foundation (CPF)

URL: https://www.cvillepolicefoundation.org/

Description: "The Charlottesville Police Foundation (CPF) was founded in 2004 by a group of dedicated local citizens to support the Charlottesville Police Department (CPD). High housing costs in the Charlottesville area make it difficult for officers to be able to live in the city they serve. In addition, the bulk of the Charlottesville Police Department budget pays for vehicles and salaries. The foundation fills many gaps by providing advanced training, new technologies and equipment, housing assistance in the form of grants, recognition of our police force, and structured community outreach through many events and programs.
