Description:
On September 26, 2014, police and unidentified gunman believed to be drug cartel gang members allegedly ambushed a convoy of buses carrying teacher-trainee student activists from Ayotzinapa College in the state of Guerrero. In the central plaza of Iguala, six persons were shot to death. Three of the victims were students. The other three were random citizens that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The attack was brutal. Seventeen other students were wounded, and forty-three others were kidnapped. The activists were committed to helping small rural farmers and farm workers and were opposed to the new education reforms implemented by the government. The drug traffickers, their bosses, and the local politicians did not like the students' activism for various reasons. Twenty two police officers are now in custody for homicide and kidnapping along with four alleged drug traffickers. The mayor of Iguala and his wife are said to be behind the kidnapping, and the Governor of Guerrero has resigned under pressure. In the weeks after the disappearance of the students, nine mass graves have been discovered in the hills outside of Iguala. The bodies had been doused with gasoline and set on fire. It is not known if these are the bodies of the abducted students. As of December 2014, the official word is that none of the kidnapped students have been definitively found.

Description:
Welcome to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry's webpage. It's an honor for our agency to be the leading source of information on the state's finest industry and the people it serves. Historically, Oklahoma agriculture has meant cattle and wheat to most people — and rightfully so. We're the fifth largest cattle producing state in the nation and the third largest producer of wheat. But Oklahoma agriculture in the 21st century is much more than beef and wheat. Crops and livestock that were once relatively small in terms of production have grown dramatically in recent years. For example, poultry and swine, respectively, are our second and third largest agricultural industries and Oklahoma is now one of the top states in their production.

Description:
The Oklahoma Biological Survey is both a research unit of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma and a state office. Our purpose is to gather, analyze and disseminate information regarding animal and plant forms and ecological communities within the state and associated geographical areas. In addition to scholarly research and publication, we provide information to citizens, organizations, businesses, and agencies concerning Oklahoma's biota, and we assist in the protection and preservation of the natural heritage of Oklahoma. Our faculty and staff also teach and provide hands-on training to students at the University.

The Brazilian Presidential Transition (2018) Web Archive is a collection built by the Ivy Plus Libraries Confederation and member libraries of the Latin America Libraries of the Northeast Group. Talía Guzman-González (Library of Congress), Sócrates Silva (Columbia / Cornell University Libraries) and Jill Baron (Dartmouth Library) are the project leads, with significant contributions from members of the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials. The Archive comprises Brazilian government websites in the areas of human rights, the environment, LGBTQ issues, and culture, for the period following the election of Jair Bolsonaro as president of Brazil on October 28, 2018, up to his inauguration on January 1, 2019. The collection targets web content considered to be vulnerable due to the anticipated consolidation or elimination in the aforementioned areas, and represents a snapshot of government content before Bolsonaro took office, with the aim of preserving these important, but potentially ephemeral, documents for researchers and scholars.

On March 23, 2020, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam issued Executive Order No., 53 that ended all in-person instruction at K-12 schools in the Commonwealth’s 132 school divisions. With schools now closed for the remainder of 2019-2020 academic year, each school division determined how learning would continue. The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) issued guidance to help school divisions execute plans to continue instruction. In order to capture the implementation of VDOEs changing guidance, this collection archives each school division’s website as well as any COVID-19 specific sites from April 2020 to August 2022. Also included are COVID-19 specific websites for Virginia’s colleges and universities and the Virginia Department of Education website. This collection of over 500 websites documents the digital divide and the need for rural broadband, the importance of schools providing meals to students, mask and quarantine policies, and the use of a variety of digital platforms used for online learning.

The Oklahoma Capitol Improvement Authority (OCIA) was created in 1959 to provide bond funding for the construction of office buildings and other infrastructure support for various departments and agencies of the State of Oklahoma, particularly those currently leasing office space. During its history, the Authority has funded numerous building and infrastructure improvements, including projects benefiting many state agencies, state colleges and universities, correctional facilities, and highway improvements. The Authority issues Revenue Bonds backed by lease agreements with the various state entities. Upon extinguishment of the bond debt, the improvements remain the property of the Authority or become the property of the state entity leasing the improvement. The Authority also currently operates several state office buildings for the benefit of state agencies.

The Central Asian Web Archive (formerly Central Asian Web Archiving) is the result of institutional collaboration between the Center for Research Libraries, based in Chicago, Illinois, and the Specialized Information Service for Central Asia, based at the State and University Library Göttingen in Germany. The Central Asian Web Archive focuses on websites from Xinjiang, China, written in the autochthonous languages of the region, as well as websites created by Uigurs in exile. Websites in Kazakh, Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, Mongolian, and other languages will be added as resources allow. As a whole, the Central Asian Web Archive is focused on websites related to language, literature, social activities, religion, culture, and the history of the indigenous peoples of Central Asia and Siberia. In the case of Xinjiang, websites on law, the economy, medicine, and those that feature the Uyghur language have been included. As some languages in Central Asia and Siberia are endangered, the Central Asian Web Archive includes all aspects of life to help preserve many aspects of language use. A more detailed description of the project is available on the homepage of the Specialized Information Service: https://fid-cassib.de/en/webarchive-central-asia/.
