Description: "Founded in 1986, we are a community organization whose members consist of Federal, State, and Municipal Police Officers, Hudson County Sheriff, and Correctional Police Officers, and State Parole Officers. The organization was established to promote fellowship among its members, enhance law enforcement's image, and improve the quality of life of the Hispanic community. To achieve these goals, HALEA advances the educational, patriotic, social, cultural, and moral welfare of its members and local communities. Partnering with other community organizations to co-promote a series of community events, HALEA places its law enforcement members front and center, providing Hispanic youths with the opportunity to develop personal relationships with positive role models. Our members are experienced professionals, leaders in their own fields, that grew up in these communities, and know the importance of giving back to our Hispanic youth. As a strictly voluntary organization, HALEA does not pay any Executive Board Officer. We remain active within the Hispanic Communities of Hudson County and those throughout the State, by partnering with similarly-minded civic organizations and supporting an active calendar of community events."--taken from website 2024.03.18
