Description: Our story begins in 1851, where six incredible women believed there was more to college. Alpha Delta Pi holds the distinction for being the first society founded for college women. It was chartered at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia in 1851. Alpha Delta Pi was originally named “The Adelphean Society,” originating from the Greek word “Adelphean” meaning “sister.”

Description: Alpha Gamma Delta was officially founded on May 30, 1904, at the home of Dr. Wellesley Perry Coddington, a professor at Syracuse University, who was instrumental in the early development of Alpha Gamma Delta. Each of the Fraternity's 11 Founders were progressive and influential women who selflessly contributed to the foundation and growth of Alpha Gamma Delta. Since the founding, collegiate chapters have been installed at 194 colleges and universities across North America and more than 183,000 women have become Alpha Gam sisters. Guided by our Purpose, Alpha Gamma Delta sisters impact our communities and contribute to the world's work.

Description: Fraternities and sororities provide an enriching student experience that helps individuals to grow and develop as young men and women who have leadership and social skills, who prioritize their academics and service to community. Membership in a fraternity or sorority is life-long and provides connections long after graduation. Membership experiences focus around the following pillars of fraternity/sorority life: Friendship: The Greek Community allows for a home-away-from-home environment you can proudly come back to after graduation. Being part of the Greek Community is a chance to be a part of something greater than yourself. You will also gain lifelong friendships, memories, and a strong sense of belonging. Leadership: The Greek Community offers endless opportunities for developing leadership skills in its members. Members hold positions within their chapter, ranging from chapter president to committee chair. Today, it takes more than a college degree to be successful. Employers want college graduates who have demonstrated leadership abilities and aren’t afraid to get involved. The Greek Community is able to provide its members with these opportunities. Philanthropy and Service: Greeks take pride in community service and philanthropy. Each chapter has a foundation or charity they sponsor through philanthropic events. Sororities and fraternities sponsor a multitude of activities each year to impact the local community and raise money. Scholarship: Fraternities and sororities strive for high scholarship and developing academic excellence among their chapter members. Fraternities and sororities offer time management, study skills, and other programming to help members be successful in the classroom. The Greek Community traditionally maintains a higher G.P.A. than the all-University average. Greek Life is a part of the Student Involvement and Leadership Department.

Description: Welcome to the website of the Eta Mu Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Since our chapter's chartering on December 3rd, 1977 on the campus of East Carolina University, the Eta Mu chapter has continued to preserve the legacy that Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated (SGRho) was founded upon. We have received the 2013 Chapter of the Year and the 2014 Chapter with the Highest GPA award for East Carolina University's National Pan-Hellenic Council. We believe our site will bring to you a better outlook on our chapter; as well as, a first look at National programs of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. Description: Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity was founded on January 2, 1897 at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. The ideals of sincerity, service, and friendship provide the foundation for AOII. As one of our founders Stella George Stern Perry explained, "We cared so profoundly for one another that we unconsciously desired a society based upon original feeling... We felt that as love never faileth, a future on that foundation was assured." With over 168,000 initiated members from 206 collegiate chapters, the values on which AOII was founded help lead us in the decisions we make and the behaviors we exhibit in our daily lives. We are inspired to promote the values of simplicity, integrity, tolerance, generosity, personal dignity, and love. Our lives are to be living symbols of these values that we hold in common. They enable us to go with character and confidence into the world around us, with assurance in knowing AOII is ours, offering friendships and opportunities throughout our lifetime.

Description: Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded by a group of eight women on April 20, 1898 in Farmville, Virginia. Margaret Lee Batten, Louise Marie Davis, Martha Trent Featherston, Isabella Merrick, Sallie Jackson Michie, Lelia Scott, Elizabeth Watkins and Lucy Wright set out to establish a sisterhood based on the bond of friendship. Founded at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University), Tri Sigma became part of the group of sororities known as the “Farmville Four” - four Greek letter sororities established at the State Female Normal School between 1898 and 1901. The Charter of Incorporation was granted by the Commonwealth of Virginia on February 12, 1903, and Tri Sigma adopted its first constitution in April 1903.

Description: The Iota Rho chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha was founded at East Carolina University in 1987. Our Queen Anne style house is the most elaborately detailed house of its type remaining in Greenville today, it is also known as the E.B. Ficklen House. It is the oldest Zeta Tau Alpha house in the nation! Originally dominating a full city block, the Ficklen House borders to the east the main railroad spur line into Greenville, and it once was one of several impressive late nineteenth and early twentieth century homes lining 5th Street, a fashionable residential neighborhood. This house has fostered lifelong memories for sisters past & present. We love to gather here to share meals and host sisterhood events as well.
