WMI encourages cross cultural exchange through music and dance by bringing acts to different locations in New York City as well as sponsoring nation wide tours of acts from overseas. WMI was founded in 1985 and is committed to the research presentation, and documentation of the finest in traditional and contemporary music and dance from around the world.
