Description:
A zine is a small circulation publication of rare interest. The Inland West has for too long been viewed as culturally barren, unweird, flat, and bad. A desolate wasteland of conservatism and repression. This publication is an effort to push back at the stuffy, boring narratives that dominate the West and provide a platform for the voices often swept under the rug by the more sensible sensibilities. Whether it’s poetry, fiction, nonfiction, editorials, journalism, songs, art, photography, design - it all has a place here.

Why This? Why Now? As inclusive access programs and other affordable course material initiatives continue to grow across the higher education landscape, open education advocates will benefit from being able to distinguish their work from other, related initiatives. When it is perceived as just another affordable learning option, the concept and impact of OER initiatives can become garbled. While open education work can connect to affordable learning initiatives beneficially, approaching them as analogous yet distinct programs is vital. This site has been created to help those supporting open and affordable course material programs better articulate the differences between these course material types and the unique benefits of each.

The Record Exchange is Idaho’s largest independent music store, steadfastly expanding Idaho’s musical boundaries since 1977. No matter the genre or format, new or used, we have it — even a modest wall of used cassettes remains among our extensive collections of CDs and vinyl. If we don’t have it, we can probably get it.
