Description: Work 9: Just Spaces is the ninth volume of the interior design journal founded and edited by Professor Johanne Woodcock, the Director of the Associates of Applied Science in Interior Design (AAS ID) program at Parsons School of Design. AAS ID draws most of its students from other professions and disciplines looking for the greater challenges and rewards in the creative field of interior design.With a focus on rigorous career preparation, Professor Woodcock skillfully curates a series of thematic studios each year, sending graduates into the profession with new questions and areas of inquiry.

Description: Women in New York Fashion: A Research Agenda is a three-year research project initiated in 2013 at Parsons School of Design, with funding from the Geraldine Stutz Trust. At its core it investigates and acknowledges the work of Geraldine Stutz (1924 – 2005), who served as President of Henri Bendel, a major fashion specialty store in New York City, for 29 years. This project places her work and accomplishments alongside those of other under-recognized women who were key to the development, business, and creative impact of New York fashion retailing in the twentieth century.

Description: This website seeks to discover, figure out, and interrogate the past at a school dedicated to the new. Students are mining recently recovered archival materials and have put together much of the material on the website. Click on “History” to obtain information about many of the school’s acclaimed historical moments, including the University in Exile, the building of 66 West 12th Street, and the murals of José Clemente Orozco and Thomas Hart Benton. “Voices” features the newest discoveries from the archives from scholars, students, and New School aficionados. Check out the “Reader” with its long and varied list of articles, books, music, artwork and dance created by thinkers and artists associated with the university.

Description: The Parsons Journal for Information Mapping (PJIM) was a quarterly publication of the Parsons Institute for Information Mapping. PJIM focused on both the theoretical and practical aspects of information visualization and its disciplines. With each issue, the Journal aimed to present novel ideas and approaches that advance the field of Knowledge Visualization through visual, engineering, and cognitive methods. PJIM published original essays, academic manuscripts, interactive and non-interactive projects, and project documentation. Its goal was to disseminate knowledge on the theories and applications of information mapping, design, and visualization. The Parsons Institute for Information Mapping was renamed the Center for Data Arts in May 2016.

IRP members have long been encouraged to explore and share their creative endeavors in IRP Voices, an annual magazine of arts and letters. Since 2011 Voices has been produced as an online venture.
