Title: Trustworthy Cyber Infrastructure for Power (TCIP), College of Engineering

URL: http://tcipg.org/

Description: Researchers from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Dartmouth College, Cornell University, the University of California at Davis, and Washington State University are together addressing the challenge of how to protect the nation's power grid by significantly improving the way the power grid infrastructure is built, making it more secure, reliable, and safe. This Department of Energy-funded project, with support from the Department of Homeland Security, recognizes that today's quality of life depends on the continuous functioning of the nation's electric power infrastructure, which in turn depends on the health of an underlying computing and communication network infrastructure that is at serious risk from both malicious cyber attacks and accidental failures. These risks may come from cyber hackers who gain access to control networks or create denial of service attacks on the networks themselves, or from accidental causes, such as natural disasters or operator errors.

Title: The Illinois Club

URL: http://www.theillinoisclub.org/

Description: Founded in 1906, The Illinois Club is one of few entities on campus that takes pride in celebrating over 100 years of history! When we began as the Tuesday Tea Club, little did those women envision that today our membership would be 25% men and that we would be awarding $20,000 in scholarships every year. The purpose of our Club is to build the University of Illinois and surrounding Champaign-Urbana communities by promoting friendship and education. This purpose is achieved through interest groups, campus tours, University of Illinois scholarship awards, and special events. The heart of The Illinois Club, where great friendships begin, are the many INTEREST GROUPS it sponsors. Many of these groups appeal to both men and women, resulting in a diverse membership. Groups usually meet one or more times a month in members' homes, or at other locations. Daytime, evening, or weekend meeting times are arranged by the group. Some group meetings are listed in the Community Calendar section of the Sunday News-Gazette, with information on how to contact the host. The Illinois Club also organizes a number of events available to all members throughout the year. A few events are for Club members only, but most are open to family members and guests. Check our CALENDAR for upcoming events and dates.

Title: Sustainable Student Farm

URL: https://ssf.cropsciences.illinois.edu/

Description: Welcome to the Sustainable Student Farm at The University Of Illinois Urbana-Champaign! The farm serves as a production farm to supply our residence halls with locally grown, low-input sustainable food. In addition, the farm acts as a living laboratory to connect students, community members, and the state at large with regional, small-scale food systems. We plan to broaden our focus to include the research, education, and outreach missions of the university. Currently, the farm operates between 45-48 weeks per year, occupying 6 acres for outdoor field production and nearly 10,000 square feet of year round high tunnel production. In addition to selling the majority of our produce to the residence halls, we also market our produce directly to consumers on the quad. This is on Anniversary Plaza (just south of the Illini Union) from May-November, Thursdays, 11am-5pm. Every attempt is made to integrate educational aspects into all activities on the farm. The Sustainable Student Farm was created through a grant from the Student Sustainability Committee and is made possible by the continued support of the University of Illinois Dining Services, the Department of Crop Sciences, and the Student Sustainability Committee.
