Description: The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's Tobacco Control and Prevention Program (TCPP) is the largest local lead agency in California in terms of size and funding. TCPP implements a countywide tobacco control program primarily through contracts with community organizations. Following the lead of the state tobacco control program, TCPP transitioned from a health education approach focusing on individual-level behavior change to a policy-based approach targeting community-level social norms.

Title: Californians for a Cure - California Cancer Research Act

Description: Main campaign website for the June 2012 California Cancer Research Act which qualified for California's next statewide ballot after its supporting coalition submitted over 600,000 voter signatures for verification in June 2010. If passed, the CCRA will provide more than $500 million a year to find new ways to detect, treat, prevent, and cure cancer and other tobacco-related illnesses. The coalition is led by the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association in California, American Heart Association, Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, Stand Up To Cancer, and Livestrong. Site includes videos and media from cancer survivors, text of the full initiative, ways to donate and advocate, and campaign news. Site taken down sometime in December 2012
