Description: Strange Beauty Film Festival accepts submissions of any form of short film that is 30 minutes or less in length. The films are encouraged to push the envelope, be gritty, and/or be thought-provoking in nature. In the past, the festival has taken place in the winter, spring, or summer, but does occur annually.

Description: Founded in 1986 by Sharon Mujica, the NC Latin American Film Festival's mission is "to provide a space in North Carolina for Latin American images, sounds, and stories to reach a wider audience." Since 2008, the festival has been directed by Miguel Rojas-Sotelo and encompasses up to 16 campuses in the Triangle. Directors and filmmakers come from all over the world, films are shown in multiple languages, and the festival includes panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and seminars in addition to screenings.
