Description: The Office of the State Archaeologist under the direction of the State Archaeologist advises the State Historic Preservation Office, other state, federal and public agencies, and private individuals on archaeological site protection, preservation, conservation and compliance related activities. The office provides expertise to the legislature as needed and fields a forensic archaeology recovery team to assist local, state and federal law enforcement and allied agencies. These records may contain minutes, photographs and video of significant events, statistics, agency policies, and other significant and related records.
