Description: Web site for the North Carolina Comprehensive Cancer Program, which is one of the components of the North Carolina Cancer Prevention and Control Branch. The Program, within the Division of Public Health, provides services in the prevention and diagnosis of cancer, the care and treatment of persons with cancer, and the maintenance of survivorship issues of persons with cancer and their loved ones. This is accomplished through the Center for Disease Control model of an integrated and coordinated approach to reducing cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality-through prevention, early detection, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliation. The Program includes: the North Carolina Advisory Committee on Cancer Coordination and Control, the Comprehensive Cancer Unit, and the Cancer Assistance Unit.
