Description: The Faculty International Unit has nine major functions, defined as follows: * To maintain and enhance international student enrolments in Faculty courses, while diversifying international student markets, and supporting the introduction of the Melbourne Model; * To attract growing numbers of high calibre research degree international students, including those who are scholarship-funded; * To expand international strategic relations, through regular hosting of international delegations, liaison with scholarship bodies, external universities, colleges and governments, with the goal of extending the Faculty’s strategic range of government and institutional agreements; * To leverage off these links to enhance the scope of Faculty international engagement (including through the development of cohort agreements designed to increase international student flows, negotiation of capacity-building projects, leasing of Faculty curricula, provision of academic training services to offshore partners etc); * To develop and implement a Faculty strategy designed to promote the global recognition, portability and (where possible) accreditation of the new faculty graduate professional degrees; * To strategically advise regulatory bodies in medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, nursing and psychology, in order to maximise future accreditation and/or recognition processes; and * To provide expert research to support Faculty external relations, marketing, accreditation and promotion initiatives, through global data analysis of relevance to future international student demand (including existing and newly emerging markets for MDHS courses).
