Throughout recorded history, Nepal has nestled between the giant cultural formations of India to the south and China/Tibet to the north. With the globalization of modern times, international interests and concerns draw Nepal into contact with more distant corners of the world. There are now a multitude of non-governmental organizations at work in Nepal, many headquartered in the Kathmandu Valley. Some are international NGOs and some are purely Nepali, some are long running and some are startups. All of the websites archived here are NGO self-presentations of their aspirations and their achievements on various fronts—humanitarian, environmental, economic, political, religious, and more.

Description: Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) is a national network of 43 peace and human rights non-governmental organizations from 29 different districts of Nepal. It started as a loose, informal forum in June 2001 and was registered with the government of Nepal as a non-profit, non-political network in December 2002. It aims to provide a common space for its members, volunteers and friends to collectively engage in the pursuit for peace, human rights and justice in Nepal. Title: Women's Rehabilitation Center

Description: Organization founded in 1991 "WOREC Nepal is a movement based organization that functions with the premise of women rights and social justice as a prerequisite for peace, social justice, and sustainable development. From over 26 years, WOREC has established itself as leading national organization that works to prevent violence against women, its causes and consequences, ensure its economic, social-cultural well-being of women as well as other marginalized groups by promoting their access to rights and social justice. WOREC was founded to rehabilitate women survivors of trafficking. In the later phase, WOREC worked to prevent trafficking of women and advocate for the right of trafficking survivors. In the long run of 32 years, WOREC has taken a holistic integrated approach with participatory intervention to strengthen community-based women groups for human rights and social justice.
