Throughout recorded history, Nepal has nestled between the giant cultural formations of India to the south and China/Tibet to the north. With the globalization of modern times, international interests and concerns draw Nepal into contact with more distant corners of the world. There are now a multitude of non-governmental organizations at work in Nepal, many headquartered in the Kathmandu Valley. Some are international NGOs and some are purely Nepali, some are long running and some are startups. All of the websites archived here are NGO self-presentations of their aspirations and their achievements on various fronts—humanitarian, environmental, economic, political, religious, and more.

Description: Organization founded in 1979 Presently, the Nepal Geological Society has over 850 members encompassing almost all the geoscientists of Nepal as well as many geoscientists of other countries who are actively engaged or interested in the geological research of Himalaya-Tibet region.The society is gradually fulfilling a role of a regional geoscientific organization. It is hoped that the Society may be able to help to develop a better networking of the scientists of this region and overseas and foster an atmosphere for a more effective regional and international scientific cooperation in the field of researches in the Himalayan earth sciences. - From the website 2018.10.23
