Description: On December 3, 2018, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Board of Trustees announced a proposal to construct a new building on South Campus to house the Confederate monument known as Silent Sam. In response, a number of open letters and statements regarding the proposal and teaching assistant grade strike were circulated on social media and directed to the University administration. This collection contains a portion of these statements.
