Collection: University of Delaware Special Collections Online Exhibitions and Finding Aids
Description: Thomas Francis Jones, Sr., a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, 1937–1940, after which he served in the United States Army Coast Artillery. Jones enrolled in the United States Army and was stationed in Hawaii as a member of Battery C, 15th Coast Artillery. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class from the Army on July 12, 1945.Many of the items collected by Mr. Jones during his service in the Army, while stationed in Hawaii and during the war, were donated to the University of Delaware Library by his family in February 2012, some of which were displayed in this exhibit. This single case exhibition was originally on display in the Morris Library Information Room from December 3-20, 2012.
