Title: Greeks Go Green

URL: https://sites.google.com/site/cornellsustainabilityhub/news/greeks-go-green/

Collection: Cornell University Archives Web Archive

Description: "Greeks Go Green is a student-based initiative dedicated to making the Greek system at Cornell more sustainable and is a collaborative effort between the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Letter Council (MGLC), Panhellenic Association, and the Sustainability Hub. The Greek community represents over 30% of the undergraduate population and has the capacity to serve as an effective route of enabling the university to achieve its goals for climate neutrality by 2050. Greeks Go Green is a natural extension of the Greek community's mission of community service. Participating Greek chapters are working to ensure that their houses are more energy-efficient and are committed to recycling and composting. Houses that perform the best in various categories, including energy conservation, water efficiency, and waste reduction are rewarded in an annual award ceremony. This initiative provides resources and programs that collaborate with the Ithaca community and help educate chapter members about sustainability."--taken from website 2023.08.14
