Description: The Talon is American University’s undergraduate yearbook. It was first published in 1926 when it was called the AUCOLA, standing for the American University College of Liberal Arts. In 1956, the name was changed to The Talon. Since 1956 The Talon has tripled in size to accommodate the growth in population at the university. Today, The Talon includes feature stories, blurbs and photos to depict the students, events, academics, trends and world events from the year. The Talon is a student run organization. Our staff of writers, designers, and photographers work all year to document and capture the events both at American and in the Washington D.C. area.
