Collection: Student Life @ American University
Description: The American University Debate Society is the premier debating team at American University. It was founded in its most recent form in 2002, and is the oldest continually-active club at American University. The Debate Society is committed to improving the quantity and quality of rational, constructive discourse on the university’s campus, while also providing the opportunity for AU students to compete inter-collegiately in the American Parliamentary Debate Association. It achieves this mission by hosting on-campus debates, open to the student body, and by sending students to compete at tournaments throughout the nation. The AUDS is a completely student-run body, and is guided by its elected Executive Board.
