Description:

Kule Folklore Centre (KuFC) is a research unit at the University of Alberta. It houses the Bohdan Medwidsky Ukrainian Folklore Archives whose mandate is to document, preserve and make available expressions of non-elite, unofficial culture and folklife of Ukrainian Canadians and Ukrainians in other diaspora communities. One of the main KuFC’s programs is the Sustainable Ukrainian Canadian Heritage (SUCH) program that aims to provide numerous Ukrainian community organizations with information and resources that help them manage their heritage collections. We work to empower these communities to preserve their heritage based on their values and priorities, but also according to professional standards.
