The mission of the Indiana Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission (IALBC) is to educate residents of Indiana and the nation about Indiana's important role in the life of Abraham Lincoln. By providing, promoting, and creating relevant opportunities, the Commission will help individuals nationwide understand how his time spent in Indiana formulated his character, which in turn, led to his greatness. Commission members were appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels in 2006.

Through its history, the Indiana State Library has developed strong collections in the fields of Indiana history and culture, Indiana state government and United States government publications, Indiana newspapers, genealogy and family history resources on Indiana and the eastern United States, Braille, large print, and books on tape for the visually impaired, library science, and American history, politics, and economics. Its collections in these areas support research by state agency employees, scholars, genealogists, librarians, students, Indiana residents who are blind or physically challenged, and the general public. The Library Development Office works to improve and support the libraries of Indiana through assistance, training, and supervising the distribution of state and federal funds.

The Indiana Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission (“Commission”) was established by House Enrolled Act 1394 during the 2019 legislative session of the Indiana General Assembly and was charged with the following: Planning and developing activities to commemorate the passage of the 19th Amendment. Encouraging and assisting state agencies, local governments, and private organizations in coordinating, organizing, and participating in activities that commemorate the 19th Amendment. Working to create a legacy that elevates the contributions of women and men with a connection to Indiana who were instrumental or otherwise played a role in the process of ratifying the 19th Amendment.
