Kisekae Set System

Archived since: Nov, 2022

Description:

Kisekae Set System, a coding language originally intended for creating paper doll dress-up games, was created at the beginning of the 90’s and initially popularized through Japanese BBS systems. Eventually, it spread to English-speaking countries and across the world through the World Wide Web. Its ability to be ported to a wide range of computers and its simple coding language, alongside its graphical capabilities, resulted in creators who incorporated both interactive functionality and inventive and visually flavorful artwork, highly-focused on pixel art. This collection compiles a wealth of KiSS viewing software, KiSS sets in .lzh format, and the personal websites of several artists who contributed to the scene. Some files and graphics may contain cartoon nudity, either anatomically-accurate or not, and some may depict underage characters in a sexualized manner. English-language resources label these clearly, and frequently include their own detailed sitewide disclaimers. The Japanese-language resources may use a general “no users under 18” disclaimer, with the most easily-read being the “R18” label, for their content.

Wicked: The Twentieth Anniversary of the Broadway Musical

Archived since: Dec, 2023

Description:

This collection focuses on the 20th anniversary celebration of the Broadway musical Wicked, which was held the last weekend in October of 2023, leading up to the 20th anniversary performance on October 30th, 2023. At the time of the show’s 20th anniversary, Wicked had become the second highest grossing Broadway show of all time and the fourth longest running show. Wicked reimagines the backstory of the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, giving her the name Elphaba. It is based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Magiure. The musical opened on October 30th, 2003, starring Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth.

You, Me, & a Cup of Tea

Archived since: Nov, 2023

Description:

This collection is about “tea culture.” It relays information on cultural etiquette and ritual surrounding tea and other herbals, along with conveying the meaning behind tea ceremonies and tradition. This collection acts as an exhibit by revealing the dispersal of tea across the globe while showcasing herbal blends of significance and key varieties of tea, including some lesser known, such as yaupon (pronounced yō-pon) tea in North America, and including exotic “stars,” such as pink, Kashmiri chai! I was inspired by my own personal love of herbal remedies as my motivation to create. This collection highlights various ethnic traditions, which I believe may serve later generations of tech-savvy people as a means of recapturing possibly lost ancestral herbal traditions. It is my well intention that whoever beholds this collection in the future gleans from it an appreciation for the living treasures God has so graciously given, but that we destroy day-by-day. Hopefully, these treasures survive long enough for that appreciation to heal or comfort a dying world. -Natasha Lanman
