Description:

Getty preserves websites in the “getty.edu” and related domains to document the history of Getty’s marketing and communications with its variety of audiences, ranging from the general public to advanced scholars. The Institutional Records and Archives Department collects records of historical value for the organization, some of which can be found on its websites. Records and Archives began crawling Getty’s domains in 2017, though prior captures had been made by the Internet Archive for multiple years. Aided by Getty Digital staff and interns, crawls were patched and enhanced in 2019-2020. The crawls capture the activities, initiatives, audience engagement, and research materials of Getty’s four operating programs, the Foundation, Conservation Institute, Research Institute, and Museum.
