Description: Sputnik is a cultural organization of Middlebury College dedicated to the celebration and exploration of the culture of the many different countries that once formed the Eastern block. Sputnik is emblematic of this shared heritage in two ways - it invokes the multinational cooperation of cosmonauts from Mongolia to East Germany, and the word itself in its original Russian meaning means "a travelling companion."
