Description:
The Egypt Politics and Revolution collection provides access to web content related to the contemporary Egyptian political scene, documenting political developments and ideologies, leading players, and various forms of expression. A major focus (and the inception point for the collection) is the January 25, 2011 revolution and its aftermath, from the time of the initial 18 Days of demonstrations at Cairo’s Tahrir Square to subsequent periods of protest and successive changes in government and presidential leadership, through 2013 and 2014. (Web archiving during those periods was an initiative of AUC’s University on the Square: Documenting Egypt’s 21st Century Revolution project). A range of politically-oriented activity is covered, from electoral campaigns to dissent, activism, and commemoration. Web content in a variety of forms is captured, including blogs, institutional websites, social media, and online news coverage.

Description:
The Resistance web archive is a thematic collection, created by Columbia University Libraries, of websites documenting and embodying grass roots political resistance activities in the United States arising in the wake of the election and inauguration of Donald Trump. Includes selected web resources focused on: protest/demonstration planning; calls to action and guidelines for political participation by citizens; official statements in response to controversial executive orders; campaigns to contain and mitigate the effects of specific dramatic policy shifts; published whistleblower or other reports of dissent by government officials; official congressional investigation reports; and newspaper board editorials addressing impeachment . Archiving of selected websites began in April 2017, with periodic re-crawls of those websites that continued to be updated, and new websites were added to the collection as they were identified. The collection ceased new crawls in February 2021, shortly after the conclusion of Donald Trump's presidency and his second impeachment.

Description:
Contains archived websites from the 2009 University of California Walk Out. In September 2009, the University of California Regents prepared to vote on tuition hikes proposed by UC President Mark Yudof in response to severe cuts in state funding for the University of California system. The proposed tuition increase was met with widespread dissatisfaction and even outrage across the ten campuses, resulting in an organized walk out by students, faculty, and staff on September 24, 2009. This archive captured eleven blogs and other social networking sites that came into being in the lead up to and aftermath of the walk out.
