Title: Colorado Black Arts Festival

Description: The Colorado Black Arts Festival strives to develop, promote, and celebrate African arts and culture in Colorado. The festival provides a medium for local Black talent in the areas of visual and performing arts, and educates regarding the role that Black arts and culture play in the development and well-being of the community. First hosted in Denver in 1987, by the second year the festival drew an audience of over 30,000 people. The festival has attracted patrons and artists from around the world, and has received many awards, including the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts.
