Collected by: University of Texas at San Antonio Libraries Special Collections

Archived since: Sep, 2016

Description:

A web collection dedicated to “#BlackLivesMatter: Critical Perspectives,” a multidisciplinary course offered at UTSA during the Spring 2016 semester. The course, cross-listed in English (ENG), Humanities (HUM), Honors (HON), African American Studies (AAS), American Studies (AMS), Curriculum & Instruction (C&I), and Bicultural-Bilingual Studies (BBL) was offered at both graduate and undergraduate levels. The goal of the class was to critically examine the sociocultural and historical contexts of the #BlackLivesMatter and #CharlestonSyllabus movements. This course was first offered at UTSA in the spring of 2016. After the semester finished, archivists from UTSA Libraries Special Collections worked with faculty and students to gather class materials and student work and created a digital exhibit in order to make the content available for further study and research. This web collection was created to make this web content available for long-term access. This collection is inactive and is no longer being crawled by UTSA Special Collections. Past crawls are still accessible.
