Description: The Social Welfare History site was a non profit project designed to inform the public about the history of social welfare in the United States. It includes brief entries on individuals, eras, programs, organizations and issue related to social welfare, reform and social work. The site was designed and developed by John E. (Jack) Hansan, Ph.D. with input from a Scholars Advisory Committee. Entries were written by academic and professional volunteer contributors.
