The free site offers a generous selection of frequently updated Booklist content —plus some reviews features written exclusively for Booklist Online. More than 8,000 new recommended-only reviews plus related features are added every year. The database contains more than 135,000 reviews and thousands of features dating back to 1992. Much of that content dynamically linked—review to review, review to feature, and feature to feature.

Title: Over the Rainbow Books

Description: Over the Rainbow Project is an expansion of the highly successful Rainbow Books project. Over the Rainbow Books is an ad hoc committee of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT) of the American Library Association (ALA). Members consists of librarians whose charge it is to select from the year’s publications, books that reflect lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender (lgbt) experience for adults and to annotate selected titles. Each year, the Over the Rainbow Project will publish a bibliography of recommended books for general readership. The bibliography will include books published between July 1 and December 31 of the previous calendar year. The committee’s charge is to create a bibliography of books that exhibit commendable literary quality and significant authentic lgbt content and are recommended for adults over age 18.

Title: Rainbow Book List

Description: The Rainbow Book List is a joint project of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table and the Social Responsibilities Round Table of the American Library Association. The Rainbow Book List presents an annual bibliography of quality books with significant and authentic GLBTQ content, which are recommended for people from birth through eighteen years of age.

Title: GLBTRT Reviews

Description: The contents of GLBT Reviews are first published in the GLBTRT Newsletter, a quarterly publication of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT) of the American Library Association (ALA). Each issue includes 15 to 20 reviews. Our reviews cover GLBT-themed fiction and nonfiction material for children, young adults, and adults. We review a variety of genres and formats including: books, films, comics, music, and websites. We are one of only a few organizations that review a large quantity of GLBT materials. The reviews are written by members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Round Table (GLBTRT) of the American Library Association (ALA). The GLBT Reviews Committee is a sub-committee of the GLBT Round Table Newsletter Committee.
