A-Sites: Archived Harvard Websites

Collected by: Harvard University Archives

Archived since: Mar, 2015

Description:

The Harvard University Archives is charged with collecting and preserving the historical records of the University. Much of the information collected for centuries in paper form now resides on University websites. Beginning in February 2007, we began the first phase of our effort to collect this information by harvesting websites from degree-granting departments and committees of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The University Archives now harvests websites from across the University, anywhere from monthly to annually. The list of sites collected continues to grow, providing a fuller picture of the Harvard webspace and of Harvard itself. HOLLIS catalog: http://id.lib.harvard.edu/alma/990115927020203941/catalog

Title: Harvard University Library Digital Initiative

URL: http://hul.harvard.edu/ldi/

Description: Harvard's Library Digital Initiative, established in 1998, enabled Harvard libraries to maintain and grow collections and services in the digital era. Through the activities of the Initiative, the Harvard libraries developed systems, policies, and services to support the collecting of digital resources at Harvard similar to the infrastructure the libraries have long had for the collecting of research resources in other formats. The Initiative website provides information on the history of the program, annual reports, news reports, and funded grant projects. Collected by the Harvard University Archives as part of the records of the Harvard Library.
