Sexual Assault Awareness on the KU Campus

Collected by: University of Kansas

Archived since: Jan, 2015

Description:

On September 2, 2014, the Huffington Post published a report about the sexual assault of an anonymous female student at the University of Kansas. The report detailed KU’s investigation after the woman filed a report against her assailant, a male student at KU. Many in the KU community questioned the institution's response. The evening the report went live, students, community members, and activists began organizing a far-reaching response, the repercussions of which are still being felt and processed. This archive attempts to gather the digital narrative around the sexual assault dialogue still underway at the University of Kansas—including what occurred before the organized student response in September 2014, the concentrated efforts during that month, and the response of the university administration and student body in the months following.
