Description: Description based on archived web page captured Jul. 29, 2014 (viewed Apr. 19, 2018) In 1989, the Covenant Fellowship of Presbyterians and Presbyterians United for Biblical Concerns merged to form Presbyterians for Renewal (PFR)—a broad based advocacy and ministry organization. In 2011, a movement began that would come to be known as the Fellowship of Presbyterians—reclaiming a covenanted biblical community within the PC(USA) where unity is derived from a clearly articulated theology, where the common mission is making disciples of Jesus Christ, and where a new generations of leaders could be nurtured to speak the gospel into a rapidly-changing world. In 2014, these two organizations blended the best of their ministries together to form The Fellowship Community.

Description: Web site of Fossil Free PCUSA (FFPCUSA), a project of Presbyterian Peace Fellowship (PPF). Members and friends of the Presbyterian Church (USA) have responded to the call to care for God’s good creation since 2012 by asking the denomination to divest from the fossil fuel industry. In 2014, the leadership of FFPCUSA and representatives from 12 concurring presbyteries traveled to General Assembly in Detroit to present an overture to divest. This overture was sent to the Mission Responsibility Through Investment (MRTI) committee for further study. In 2016, the support for an updated overture grew to 31 concurring presbyteries. The overture was passed in committee at the 2016 General Assembly but eventually was again sent to MRTI. In 2017, FFPCUSA became an official project of PPF, acknowledging that the work of ecojustice is entangled with peacemaking. The work continues to grow, in collaboration with people across the denomination, but focused on a commitment to divest from the industry that has contributed the most to climate change.
