Title: Kristen Britain's Official Site

URL: http://kristenbritain.com/

Description: Kristen Britain grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, where she started her first novel - an undersea fantasy featuring herself and her friends - at the age of nine. She published her first book, a cartoon collection called, Horses and Horsepeople, at the age of thirteen. In 1987 she completed a degree in film production, with a minor in writing, at Ithaca College. After graduation, travel beckoned and she began a career as a ranger with the National Park Service, enabling her to work in a variety of natural and historical settings, from 300 feet below the surface of the Earth to 13,000 feet above sea level on the Continental Divide; and from the textile mills of the American Industrial Revolution to the homes of Americans who changed the course of history. Her first published epic fantasy novel, Green Rider, the story of a runaway school girl who finds herself in deep peril when she agrees to bear a message for a dying Green Rider (king’s messenger), was released in 1998. Currently she lives in an adobe house in the high desert of New Mexico among the hummingbirds and lizards.

Title: Ex Urbe – History, Philosophy, Books, Food & Fandom

URL: http://www.exurbe.com/

Description: I am Ada Palmer, an historian, novelist, and composer, and a professor in the History Department at the University of Chicago. I study heterodoxy, heresy, freethought, censorship and information control, the recovery of classical thought after the Middle Ages, its impact on science, religion and atheism, and the history of the book and printing. My focus on the Renaissance frequently takes me to Rome, Florence and around Europe. I often do research at rare books libraries like the Vatican. My first academic book Reading Lucretius in the Renaissance treats the recovery of classical atomist physics in the 15th and 16th centuries how humanist reading practices protected and disseminated radical science.

Description: My life is writing, creating worlds where none existed before. I love it, and I love the characters that spring to life fully formed. I love the justice that I can find in the pages of a book where none existed before. I’m not a talented person, but I reckon if God was going to give me one single talent, I’m REALLY glad it’s writing! I’ve been writing since tenth grade, and will stop the day they tumble me into a grave and cover me up.
