URL: http://www.opscc.org/

Description: Dominican Sisters in Committed Collaboration, formerly known as OP Sisters in Committed Collaboration (OPSCC) is an organization composed of the following congregations: Dominican Sisters of Amityville,NY; Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, NY; Dominican Sisters of Caldwell, NJ; Dominican Sisters of Hope, Ossining, NY; and Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, NY. "Committed Collaboration Statement: In this new moment of Dominican Life, we recognize the global need for truth, compassion and justice and each Congregation’s commitment to collaboration. We commit ourselves: to deeper contemplation desiring to see the newness of God as it unfolds in this time; to be and to do together what we cannot sustain alone especially in response to the hungers of this world; to share our resources, finances and membership in this endeavor; to call each member forth to engage in meaningful dialogue, honest sharing of information, ideas, gifts, and a willingness to move into new ventures, and even to alter ministries and activities. We stand on the brink of a new moment and say an intentional “YES.” Our Promoter of Dominican Life and Mission and our Promoter of Justice assist us as we live out our commitment to this vision by engaging our membership and building relationships to effect positive change: We share personnel, expertise, and resources in service to the Gospel. We meet, both membership and leadership, to build relationships, lend support, share expertise, and provide opportunities for creative responses to emerging needs. • Congregational committees and offices build relationships with their counterparts in other congregations, joining together when and where it can increase effectiveness. We create opportunities to collaborate on projects and events. We engage in joint efforts to respond to emerging issues and evolving needs. We sponsor joint events, bringing membership together for education and for building relationships. We share financial resources to provide grants for collaborative projects that advance our Dominican life and mission, especially to meet evolving needs. We utilize joint communications to share information about matters of importance for our Dominican life and mission, focusing special attention on issues of justice, pointing to possible action steps. We take advantage of technology to share information across congregations and with our various publics. We take corporate stands on issues of justice.” 12/01/14
