Wellstone Muscular Dystrophy Cooperative Research Center for research in Seattle and Rochester is focused on preclinical and clinical studies of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD), the two most common forms of dystrophy. Description: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the virus that causes coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Currently, there are no FDA-approved treatments for COVID-19. Many drugs have been suggested as possible treatments, but we don’t yet know if they actually work. This study will investigate if taking hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) or HCQ plus azithromycin is beneficial for non-hospitalized people with SARS-CoV-2 infection compared to a placebo.
