Description: We provide integrated medical and psychiatric treatment and consultation for patients with substance use disorders in outpatient and inpatient settings. Faculty provide education and conduct research on topics related to substance use issues including: studying the integrated care model, epidemiology and treatment of Hepatitis C infection in drug users, and understanding immunity in opioid users. The division's faculty and staff offer clinical care including treatment of PTSD in returning Iraq and Afghanistan combat veterans, healthcare workforce mental health treatment and referral, medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid users, and alcohol and substance use treatment to a wide range of patients in different settings employing a number of modalities.
