Description: "Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC) has established the Brain and Mind Research Institute (BMRI). The BMRI is directed by Dr. Costantino Iadecola, the Anne Parrish Titzell Professor of Neurology. A basic science entity with departmental privileges, the Institute provides a home for basic and clinical research focused on the brain and its diseases. Bridging the translational gap in the neurosciences is of paramount importance to public health. Owing to a convergence of scientific knowledge and technology, it is widely recognized that brain sciences are on the verge of numerous crucial breakthroughs, which will have a transformative impact not only on our understanding of the inner workings of the brain, but also on neurotherapeutics."
