Newer or older websites for agencies within this collection may also be listed in other collections depending on the structure of state government at the time the crawl was initially established.

Title: Continuum of Care (2015-present)

Description: The Continuum of Care is self-described as working to ensure continuing development and delivery of appropriate services to those children with severe emotional disturbance and their families in SC whose needs are not being adequately met by existing services and programs. The Continuum of Care for Emotional Disturbed Children was created by Article 13, Section 63-11-1310 and was administered by the Office of the Governor. The division was transferred to the Dept. of Administration by the South Carolina Restructuring Act of 2014 (Act 121). The division was then transferred to the Dept. of Children’s Advocacy in 2018 (Act 160). Title: Crime Victims' Ombudsman (2015-2020)

Description: The General Assembly created the Crime Victim's Ombudsman in 1994 (Act 433). The mission of the Office of the Crime Victim Ombudsman (CVO) is to ensure that victims of crime are served justly, equitably and fairly by the South Carolina Criminal Justice System and its victim service organizations. It was administered by the Office of the Governor and transferred to the Department of Administration in 2015 by the South Carolina Restructuring Act of 2014 (Act 121). The General Assembly transferred the State Office of Victim Assistance (SOVA) and the Office of the Crime Victims' Ombudsman to the Office of the Attorney General's South Carolina Crime Victim Services Division on July 1, 2017 (Act 96). This website is no longer captured using the Archive-It service, but the records are still available through web crawls of the Attorney General’s website.

Title: Guardian ad Litem Program (2015-2019)

Description: The Cass Elias McCarter Guardian ad Litem, through volunteers meant to advocate of behalf of a child's best interest, evaluates the well-being and needs of children to make recommendations to the court on the best course of action for a child's future. The Guardian ad Litem program was created in 1984 and was administered by the Office of the Governor. The division was transferred to the Dept. of Administration by the South Carolina Restructuring Act of 2014 (Act 121). The division was then transferred to the Dept. of Children’s Advocacy in 2018 (Act 160). This seed is the former website of the Guardian ad Litem Program and no longer captured using the Archive-It Service.

Title: State Office of Victim Assistance (2015-present)

Description: The General Assembly created the State Office of Victim Assistance with in 1982 (Act 455). The program originated as the Victims Compensation Fund. It was created to establish a program to compensate victims of crime and certain other persons who have suffered as a result of crime. It was administered by the Office of the Governor and transferred to the Dept. of Administration in 2015 by the South Carolina Restructuring Act of 2014 (Act 121). The General Assembly transferred the State Office of Victim Assistance (SOVA) and the Office of the Crime Victims' Ombudsman to the Office of the Attorney General's South Carolina Crime Victim Services Division on July 1, 2017 (Act 96).
