This society was founded in 1845 and is the oldest cultural institution in the state. This society looks to examine who the people of New Jersey are and what it means to be a member of the state of New Jersey. As a historical society and museum, this organization seeks to promote exploration of the cultures of New Jersey as well as its past and present.
