Title: Adele H. Stamp Student Union

Description: Archived website of the Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland, College Park. The student union building was constructed in 1954 as a center for student activities and the focal point for social and cultural events, and was named for Adele H. Stamp, the university's former Dean of Women (1922-1960) in 1983 (Student Union records, Special Collections and University Archives, University of Maryland Libraries, http://hdl.handle.net/1903.1/1666). The Stamp's stated mission is "To provide a safe and inviting campus center where all UMD students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members cultivate lifelong relationships founded on engagement, learning, multiculturalism, and citizenship" ("The Stamp Student Union," http://wayback.archive-it.org/2410/20180425010832/http://thestamp.umd.edu/the_stamp_student_union, archived April 25, 2018). The Stamp website includes information about hours, programs, announcements, events, staff, advisory board, food, shops, services, student organizations, and programs based in The Stamp, such as Multicultural Involvement & Community Advocacy (MICA) and Leadership & Community-Service Learning (LCSL). The website also includes resources for graduate students, students of faith, transfer and off-campus students, and veteran students.
