Description: Archived website of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 2015 to present. The Chesapeake Bay Foundation was organized as a non-profit organization for the purpose of preserving the ecological well-being of the Bay by combating pollution and conserving its natural resources. The Foundation has been active not only in publicizing and informing the citizenry of important issues related to the environment of the Bay, but also in seeing that appropriate action was taken to eliminate threats to or to reduce undesired effects on this environment. Additionally, the foundation publishes informative and educational reports, participates in panel discussions and speaking engagements at civic and social meetings, testifies at state and Congressional hearings, and sponsors such activities as Save the Bay month, the Swan Adoption Program, and ecological cruises for students. The CBF website includes information about its mission, financial information, staff, leadership, educational resources, educational programs, advocacy, litigation, restoration efforts, offices, news, media, events, membership. The site also hosts blogs, social media, and a podcast.
