Description:

In 2004, after finally recognizing th[e] long history of service by its citizens, the New Mexico State Legislature passed the Veterans Service Department Act to elevate the long-standing New Mexico Veterans Commission to a cabinet-level agency, the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services, to provide our state’s veterans a direct voice within the executive branch of state government. DVS’ mission is to work together to provide the highest quality of care and the best quality of life for veterans and their families.
