Description: First Corinthian Baptist Church is located at 1912 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard at West 116th Street in Central Harlem, New York City. One of the most ornate structures in Harlem, this church kicked off its life in 1913 as the Regent Theatre, one of the country's early movie palaces that replaced the nickelodeons. Its elaborately columned and arched facade loosely resembles the Doges' Palace in Venice. The Regent was sold to the church in 1964.
