Description: The $3 million Productivity Investment Fund will provide seed money to state agencies to lower operating costs, reduce constituent service transaction times, and advance key performance goals as published on the Virginia Performs website. Ideas for improvement projects will be solicited from state agencies, private sector firms, academic leaders, and citizens. Recipients will be limited to state agencies but public-private partnerships are encouraged.

Description: In September 2006, Governor Kaine signed Executive Order Thirty-Five establishing the Office Of Telework Promotion And Broadband Assistance to encourage the development of a family-friendly, business-friendly public policy environment that promotes workplace efficiency, reduces strain on transportation infrastructure and encourages the deployment and adoption of affordable broadband level telecommunication services. The Office of Telework Promotion and Broadband Assistance resides within the Office of the Secretary of Technology and reports to a board consisting of the Secretaries of Administration, Commerce and Trade, Finance, Technology and Transportation.
