For many years the Finance and Administration Cabinet's Department of Facilities and Support Services has advocated for a new building to replace the nearly 48 years old and functionally obsolete Capital Plaza complex in Downtown Frankfort. After thorough analysis of costly maintenance issues, cost overruns, and potential safety issues, the cabinet concluded the most effective solution would be to demolish current structures and replace them with new energy efficient and modern ones. This website provides up-to-date and accurate information regarding the redevelopment project for the Capital Plaza Complex. Updates are added as they become available.
