Description: The university’s By-laws provide for the faculty to play several roles in governance. These are performed at a number of levels in the institution. Elected by faculty colleagues, the Senate ensures excellence and equity in both policies and practices that affect faculty across the university. Its responsibilities include monitoring academic policies and regulations, making recommendations for the academic budget, and setting the general and minimum standards for instruction throughout the university.
