Description: Medley Hall is home to 57 students and is owned by the University of Melbourne. From July 2009 Medley Hall will be undergoing building and renovation work which means that although we will be providing accommodation and meals, we will not be operating as a college and will only be open from mid February to the end of June 2009. Housed in a grand Victorian mansion, Benvenuta (Welcome), Medley is the smallest of the colleges and the only one to be situated on the edge of the City of Melbourne, close to the Exhibition Gardens, the State Library and Victoria Market. A short walk from Medley Hall takes you to the gate of the University. At Medley Hall everyone knows everyone’s name. Our college combines intimacy, security and comfort with the independence university students need. We value altruism. Within our community you will find friends who share your interests and friends whose interests you will come to share. Starting university can be as challenging as it is exciting. Medley Hall offers you a stable, supportive community where the Principal, Phillippa Connelly, and her staff will assist you in the transition to university life, to tertiary study and to living away from home.
