Description: BRAC was founded by Sir Fazle Abed in 1972 in a small village in Bangladesh. It has now grown into the largest development organization in the world with successful programs to tackle poverty fully and effectively, proceeding to be scaled up in other countries. BRAC’s programmes reach millions of people in Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Myanmar, Nepal and the Philippines. BRAC’s work started in Nepal with emergency relief after the massive earthquake of 2015. Later, we signed a general agreement with Nepal’s Social Welfare Council in September 2015, to work on an integrated community development project. Through this project, we aim to strengthen healthcare services by capacitating women community health volunteers and empowering adolescent girls. - From the website 2021.06.01
